WHY SHOULD WE CARE ... POST #8 OF A SERIES

 

Proverbs 14:12 (KJV) There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,

DOMINION

Col 3:16 (KJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Mat 18:15(KJV) Moreover, if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Mat 18:16(KJV) But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

Mat 18:17(KJV) And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglects to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican.

Mat 18:18(KJV) Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mat 6:14(KJV) For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you   The word DOMINION is defined as having absolute authority. But absolute authority also implies the absolute responsibility of care. I used to be a supervisor in a foundry. A foundry ranked with a coal mine, or a steel mill in the 1950s as the dirtiest places anyone could work in.   By virtue of the environment, personnel tended to want to be careless and show little or no concern for housekeeping. We addressed this initially by posting signs, "Clean up after yourself, your mother does not work here".

But the employees got the last laugh several times when they saw a supervisor throw something at a waste container and miss. They would hold up a sign, "Monkey see, monkey do".   Before long, we were being bilateral accountability partners for the entire department. That is what it takes. To have dominion over what we have been entrusted with, we must provide the care needed to take care of it and improve it as time goes on, rather than tear it down. As we are being reminded today, WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER!   It is absolutely appalling to see a crew of inmates policing a stretch of an interstate only to come back by in a week or so and have it littered again. Why do We the People feel we are entitled to simply roll a window down and trash that which we have been given the responsibility to care for.   Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus did not say send someone, he said GO YE.
